Getting Started

Here you will find a list of everything you need to get involved in an online Coperia game. Something missing, or want something added? Let me know, and I'll add it as soon as possible.

Discord

In the past my games have been held in a combination of IRC and Roll20; for this game I'm changing things up a bit. The ability to use seperate channels for episodes, side scenes, and anything else, as well as how logs are saved and recalled makes Discord the perfect venue for the RP portion of this game. All RP will handled through text; no RP will be done over voice. That said, if people wish to make use of voice chat during or between sessions they are more than welcome! Discord also means that people can drop poses into an ongoing episode between sessions, if they feel so inspired - kind of like play by post.

Roll20

For battlemaps, Roll20 will be used. Players will be expected to log into roll20 at the beginning of every session, because anything can happen at any time, and it also makes for a good place (besides discord) to funnel OOC chatter. Dice rolls I handle more uniquely. Players have the option of either using Roll20's malignant, haunted, and vengeful dicebot, or roll their own dice. I trust my players not to cheat, so I'm not going to require you to show me every single dice roll - just know that I will be taking the same liberty. Roll20 also has the added bonus of being able to broadcast music to all players, allowing me to use music in a soundtrack-like fashion.

RP Tools

There's a lot of tools out there that can help with things such as RP and forming a character. Some favourites have been listed below for players to make use of at their own leisure. It is strongly recommended that, for both your benefit and the DM's, that you utilise at least one of them to help better flesh out your character. Remember, the more you and the DM know about your character, the better integrated into the story they can be!

Questionnaires:

The are questionnaires that can be used to help flesh out a character, their past, their present, and their motivations. Any questionnaires should be created on a separate page titled "[charname]-questions" and linked back to the main character page.

70 Questions: A variation of a RP questionnaire popular during the RandomInsanity era of D&D as well as during the Eternity RP tournaments, this questionnaire presents a series of 70 simple questions about a character for the writer to help flesh out the basics of their characters. An example can be found here.
